Salary Range: $67,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with multiple companies in Newaygo seeking experienced Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Provide EHS training to employees on various topics, including hazard communication and emergency response.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal and ensure compliance with waste management regulations.
• Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate EHS considerations into new projects and processes.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and recommend necessary adjustments.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
• 3+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal/state EHS regulations.
• Proven ability to conduct EHS training, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Experience developing and implementing EHS programs and procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems
• Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM
• Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate EHS training programs
• Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Sphera)
• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
