Shipping & Receiving Clerk | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $42,000 - $62,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in East Lansing that are seeking skilled Shipping & Receiving Clerks. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Accurately receive, inspect, and document incoming raw materials and finished goods.
• Prepare and package outgoing products, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for shipment.
• Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate material handling equipment.
• Maintain organized inventory of received and shipped materials, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory to ensure accuracy.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with production and quality control teams to resolve discrepancies in shipments.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies regarding material handling and warehousing.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years experience in shipping/receiving within a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems for inventory management and transaction processing
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and material handling
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience operating a forklift with valid certification.
• Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, particularly SAP.
• Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs documentation.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for minor equipment adjustments or troubleshooting.
