EHS Manager | Mason, MI

Salary Range: $81,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and permits.
• Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation for accidents and near misses.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for all employees.
• Oversee hazardous waste management and environmental reporting requirements.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response planning, drills, and coordination.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5-10+ years of progressive EHS experience, with significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Strong leadership, communication, and training skills with experience fostering a positive safety culture.
• Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
• Experience implementing or managing EHS software platforms (e.g., Gensuite, Sphera, Cority).
• Demonstrated experience with sustainability initiatives, such as waste reduction, energy conservation, or carbon footprint management.
• Proficiency in a second language relevant to the manufacturing workforce (e.g., Spanish).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or experience applying continuous improvement methodologies to EHS processes.
