Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Mattawan that are seeking skilled Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
• Creates detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies.
• Conducts design reviews and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturability.
• Performs engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
• Specifies materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Troubleshoots and resolves design-related issues during production.
• Manages engineering change orders (ECOs) and implements design improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and their impact on design.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Familiarity with GD&T and its application in engineering drawings.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
• Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis or automation.
• Knowledge of quality control methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
• Experience with simulation tools for fluid dynamics or thermal analysis.
