Salary Range: $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops new products or modifies existing ones to meet customer requirements.
• Creates detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material using CAD software.
• Performs design calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure product performance and reliability.
• Collaborates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Conducts design reviews and implements feedback to iterate and improve product designs.
• Troubleshoots design-related issues during production and provides engineering support.
• Evaluates and selects appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for product designs.
• Stays current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in design engineering.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, machining).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with a specific CAD software suite (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, PTC Creo) beyond basic proficiency.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles in a high-volume production environment.
• Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) for performance prediction and optimization.
• Knowledge of common manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, stamping, additive manufacturing) and their associated design constraints.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
