Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Designs and develops new products or modifies existing ones to improve performance, reduce cost, or enhance manufacturability.
- Creates detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications for components and assemblies.
- Conducts engineering analysis (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate designs and predict performance under various conditions.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure design feasibility and smooth production.
- Selects appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements, cost, and availability.
- Develops and maintains engineering documentation, including bills of materials, design reviews, and change orders.
- Troubleshoots design-related issues during prototyping, testing, and production.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product designs and engineering processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
- Demonstrated experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, sheet metal fabrication).
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate designs.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond primary expertise (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal, additive manufacturing).
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering change processes.
