The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Hudsonville that are seeking Buyers. Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery of materials.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value and support production requirements.
• Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, timely placement, and adherence to company policies.
• Monitor supplier performance, address non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand material needs and specifications.
• Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain risks to inform purchasing strategies.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a direct purchasing role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement functions.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain principles.
• Experience with strategic sourcing and cost reduction initiatives.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex)
• APICS CSCP or CPIM certification
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience with global sourcing and supply chain management
