Salary Range: $58,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Walker seeking CNC Mill Programmers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis mills.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters for optimal performance.
- Perform simulations and prove-outs of new programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs to improve cycle times and part quality.
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Create and maintain detailed setup sheets and tooling lists for production runs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards in all programming activities.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM) for 3-axis and multi-axis milling.
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for CNC mills.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Experience with tool selection, cutting parameters, and fixture design for efficient material removal.
- Knowledge of various materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics) and their machining characteristics.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with 5-axis programming.
- Proficiency in a CAM system beyond basic operation (e.g., advanced feature utilization in Mastercam, Fusion 360, or SolidCAM).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs for cycle time reduction or improved surface finish.
- Familiarity with G-code simulation software (e.g., Vericut, NCSIMUL).
- Knowledge of various tooling types and their optimal applications for different materials.
