Salary Range: $58,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for lathes using CAM software.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine optimal machining processes.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and inserts based on material and part geometry.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and correct errors before production.
  • Optimize existing CNC programs for improved efficiency, cycle time, and tool life.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot programming issues and refine processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of CNC programs, tool lists, and setup sheets.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience programming CNC lathes with G-code and M-code.
  • Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Esprit) for generating complex toolpaths.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
  • Strong understanding of tooling selection, cutting parameters, and material properties for various metals.
  • Experience with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC lathes.
