Salary Range: $55,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Grand Haven that are seeking CNC Mill Programmers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines using CAM software.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Simulate and verify programs to ensure accuracy, collision avoidance, and optimal cycle times.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to optimize part design for manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues during production.
• Create and maintain detailed setup sheets and tooling lists for machine operators.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance programming efficiency and machining processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for manual programming and editing.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Experience with various tooling, fixturing, and workholding methods.
• Knowledge of different materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics) and their machining properties.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis programming.
• Proficiency in a second CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, PowerMill).
• Familiarity with on-machine probing and inspection techniques.
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with robotic tending or automation integration.
