Materials Manager | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $83,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Delta Township seeking Materials Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials.
• Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
• Lead and mentor a team of materials planners, buyers, and warehouse personnel.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of materials.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material availability and quality standards are met.
• Implement and maintain robust material tracking systems and processes.
• Analyze material usage and forecast future demands to support production schedules.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in material handling, storage, and logistics.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in materials management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
• Strong understanding of inventory control principles, forecasting, and production planning
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
• Certification in APICS (CPIM or CSCP) is highly desirable

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for materials planning and inventory management.
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) with a focus on supply chain optimization.
• Project management experience, particularly in process improvement or new product introduction.
• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
