Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Byron Center that are seeking skilled First Article Inspectors. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of first article parts and assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
- Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and other required documentation.
- Identify and document non-conformances, initiating corrective actions and working with engineering and production to resolve issues.
- Interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T to ensure accurate measurement and evaluation of part characteristics.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality engineers to ensure manufacturability and inspectability of new products.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensuring proper functioning and accuracy.
Recommended Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to use various precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
- Strong understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 documentation requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with various measurement tools beyond CMM (e.g., optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Familiarity with GD&T principles and application.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other quality management systems.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment.
