Salary Range: $54,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate cost estimates for new and existing products.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather necessary information for bids.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations of estimated costs for management review.
• Maintain and update a database of cost information and historical data.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with estimating software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for cost tracking and analysis.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or cost engineering (e.g., CCC, CCE).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software for interpreting complex designs and generating accurate material take-offs.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond primary expertise (e.g., additive manufacturing, advanced composites).
