Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Jenison seeking Packaging Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, to define packaging requirements and specifications.
• Optimize packaging designs for cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and manufacturability.
• Conduct packaging material selection, testing, and validation to ensure product protection and compliance.
• Develop and maintain packaging specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot packaging related issues on the production line and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in packaging technologies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in packaging development or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for package design and analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various packaging materials, testing methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with packaging machinery and automation.
• Strong understanding of supply chain logistics and cost optimization related to packaging.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software
• Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practices
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
• Project management experience
