Inspection Technician | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of products for defects and non-conformities.
• Utilize precision measuring tools to verify product specifications against blueprints and standards.
• Document inspection results accurately, including pass/fail status and any identified deviations.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
• Identify and tag non-conforming materials, initiating appropriate corrective action processes.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate's degree preferred.
• 2+ years experience in quality control, inspection, or a related manufacturing role.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM or other automated inspection equipment.
• ASQ certifications (e.g., CMI, CQIA).
• Ability to interpret and apply GD&T principles.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) software.
• Experience with microscope inspection or other small-part inspection techniques.
