Incoming Inspection Technician | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Traverse City seeking Incoming Inspection Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials.
• Verify materials against purchase orders and engineering specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately in the quality management system.
• Identify and tag non-conforming materials for further disposition.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure proper calibration.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to incoming quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in quality control or incoming inspection within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T knowledge a plus).
• Experience with various inspection tools and metrology equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
• Ability to accurately document inspection results and maintain detailed records.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.

Bonus Qualifications

• IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification
• Experience with various metrology tools (CMM, optical comparators, etc.)
• Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings with GD&T
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment
