Quality Engineer | Jenison, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspection plans.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Monitor and analyze manufacturing processes for quality improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead and participate in internal and external quality audits.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to drive process stability.
• Maintain and update quality documentation, including FMEAs and control plans.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
• Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, MSA, Root Cause Analysis, 8D).
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications (GD&T).

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ certification (e.g., CQE, CSSGB)
• Experience with Minitab or other statistical software
• Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing methodologies
• Experience with a specific ERP system relevant to manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
