Staff Accountant | Mattawan, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and inventory.
• Process accounts payable invoices and prepare vendor payments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal entries and accruals.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and variances, providing insights to management.
• Prepare and file various tax forms, such as sales and use tax returns.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.
• Support external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-4 years of experience in general ledger accounting
• Experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Experience in a manufacturing environment

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP system like SAP or Oracle
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
• CMA or CPA candidate
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with inventory costing methodologies (e.g., standard costing, FIFO)
