Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are working with companies in Grand Haven that are adding Staff Accountants to their teams. These organizations value quality over speed in hiring. By connecting with us, you position yourself for opportunities that align with what you're looking for.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and various balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close, accruals, and reclassifications.
• Assist with cost accounting activities, including variance analysis and inventory valuation.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Support the annual financial audit by preparing requested documentation and schedules.
• Generate various financial reports and analyses to support management decision-making.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., ERP systems)
• Experience with inventory costing and analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP system like SAP or Oracle
• Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA licensure
• Experience with process improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
