Internal Sales Diesel Specialist – Cape Town – Salary R45,000 to R50,000

A well-established client in the Diesel Fuel Injection industry is looking to appoint a skilled Internal Sales – Diesel Specialist. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical diesel knowledge combined with proven internal sales experience.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales, supporting customers in diesel pump rooms, and contributing to product range growth.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

• Proactively engage with customers via WhatsApp and phone to respond to quotation requests
• Achieve and maintain monthly sales targets
• Grow business within the core customer base, primarily Diesel Pump Rooms
• Support the Managing Director with product range expansion and the introduction of new products
• Assist in identifying and sourcing new suppliers for diesel pump and injector parts
• Conduct occasional customer visits to strengthen relationships
• Provide technical support to fellow sales team members regarding diesel parts
• Accurately invoice customers for products sold

Customer Service

• Provide timely updates on logistics, delivery delays, or supply challenges
• Escalate potential account or credit limit issues to management
• Ensure prompt, professional customer engagement and follow-up on calls, messages, and quotations
• Ensure customers receive the correct parts at all times and are never referred to competitors

Administration

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information
• Track and manage claims and credits
• Complete lost sales reports for products that could not be supplied or were uncompetitive
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation
• Assist with ad-hoc tasks as required by management

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (essential)
• Extensive knowledge of the Diesel Fuel Injection industry
• Note: Diesel engine technicians and mechanics without fuel injection sales/workshop exposure will not be considered
• Previous experience working in a Diesel Fuel Injection workshop (pump room) or as an Internal Sales Consultant for a Diesel Fuel Injection wholesaler
• Proven sales experience in a similar environment
• Trade Test and/or formal Diesel Fuel Injection training (highly advantageous)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational and multitasking ability
• Solid product and industry knowledge
