The Role: Business Development Manager

This role exists to drive new business across the UK healthcare sector. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and converting new public and private sector clients. From NHS Trusts to private care homes, you'll target decision-makers and build long-term relationships that align with internal operational capabilities and workforce availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bring 3-5 years of senior-level sales experience into a strategic new business role
  • Conduct market research and develop business development plans
  • Cold call and outreach to NHS and private sector prospects
  • Book and attend client meetings to present services and negotiate terms
  • Build a pipeline of active and prospective clients
  • Liaise with internal managers to align business won with operational capacity
  • Maintain communication with framework authorities
  • Report monthly on business development KPIs and strategy

About You

  • 3-5 years of proven sales experience with senior-level stakeholders
  • Strong UK healthcare staffing market knowledge (Frameworks, NHS Caps, Vendor models)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • High IT literacy and CRM/database understanding
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organised
  • Able to work UK hours (8 am to 5 pm) from South Africa
  • Commercially aware with strategic thinking ability
  • Confident and adaptable, with strong influencing capabilities
