With a reputation for accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency, the business is expanding and seeking dedicated Senior Billings Administrator. The Role: Senior Billings Administrator
This role exists to provide senior-level oversight and delivery of billing, bookkeeping, and financial administration for medical consultants. You will ensure billing is accurate and timely, remittances are reconciled, and consultant practices run smoothly from a financial perspective. Acting as the link between consultants, insurers, and patients, you will play a key part in maintaining operational and financial integrity while also guiding junior staff where needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end billing processes, with at least 3 years proven experience in medical billing or healthcare administration

  • Raise and issue invoices for clinics and theatre lists within agreed timescales

  • Reconcile remittances from private medical insurance companies and hospitals

  • Handle patient billing queries with professionalism and efficiency

  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliation reports

  • Support credit control processes and follow up on outstanding balances

  • Assist with bookkeeping duties, ensuring compliance with South African accounting standards

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior billing/administration staff

About You

  • Minimum 3 years experience in healthcare billing or medical administration

  • Recognised accounting or bookkeeping qualification (e.g., Certificate in Bookkeeping, SAIBA Level 2/3, or equivalent)

  • Strong bookkeeping knowledge and understanding of financial reconciliations

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple consultant accounts simultaneously

  • Desirable: Advanced bookkeeping/accounting qualifications (SAIBA Level 4/Diploma in Accounting)

  • Desirable: Familiarity with private medical insurers and billing platforms

  • Desirable: Previous experience in a senior or supervisory billing role
