Job Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Regional Project Manager to join our Operations team for FIRE, WET SERVICES, AND HVAC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and ensuring the profitability of various projects while maintaining compliance with OSHEM and operational standards. The role also involves supporting sales and marketing initiatives by identifying new opportunities and aiding the sales process.

Location: Namaqualand Northern Cape

6 months contract

Salary R 40 000 - R 45 000

Key performance areas:

  • Manage project administration by preparing and maintaining project files, site visit notes, and delivery in line with contractual obligations, identifying areas of concern, monitoring implementation of corrective action, and managing delivery in line with agreed actions weekly and as required
  • Prepare for the ASIB inspection by confirming inspection dates, providing documentation, attending inspections, and addressing any items on the inspection report within the defined deadlines
  • Handover projects by commissioning, testing, providing relevant manuals, securing client sign off, and providing documentation for internal and client purposes as required

Project Planning and Resourcing:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, define deliverables and timelines, and coordinate with the operations team.
  • Identify resource needs and work with supply chain and subcontracting teams to finalize project requirements.
  • Manage service provider selection and contract reviews.

Project Management:

  • Oversee project delivery, monitor progress, and manage risks to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain project documentation and prepared for inspections and handovers.
  • Provide leadership in problem-solving and corrective action implementation.

Project Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement corrective actions for budget deviations.
  • Ensure project profitability by monitoring costs and productivity.
  • Manage claims and payment valuations for suppliers and subcontractors.

OSHEM and Compliance Management:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHEM standards and manage operational compliance on projects.
  • Provide training and support to service providers on compliance requirements.

Sales and Marketing Support:

  • Engage with clients to provide technical support, identify additional opportunities, and assist in proposal development.
  • Support the sales team in designing and executing sales and marketing strategies.

Reporting:

  • Generate and analyse reports on project performance, financial metrics, and subcontractor performance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • NQF Level 6 in Project Management within the built environment is required.
  • Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of project management experience in the built environment is required.
  • Experience in the fire protection environment is preferred.
