Key Performance Areas & Indicators

1. Maintenance Support 

  • Operate and maintain machines according to OEM guidelines.

  • Equipment includes: Negative and Positive Pasting lines, expander, tab blanker, hopper, divider, and stacker.

  • Ensure equipment produces high-quality output at the expected production rate.

  • Maintain extraction and cooling systems in proper working condition.

Performance Indicators:

  • Adherence to operating procedures.

  • Safe handling of equipment.

  • Completion of incident reports.

  • Minimization of equipment damage.

  • Equipment availability percentage.

2. Administration 

  • Ensure job cards are prepared before commencing maintenance tasks.

  • Complete production logs, attribute charts, and SPC data in line with work instructions.

Performance Indicators:

  • Job cards and logs completed as required.

3. Compliance 

  • Operate within established controls and procedures.

  • Identify and report potential risks.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.

Performance Indicators:

  • Full compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Timely risk reporting.

  • Minimization of waste and irregular expenditure.

4. Cost Control 

  • Use resources responsibly and avoid unnecessary costs.

  • Monitor and report on budget variances.

Performance Indicators:

  • Cost control, effectiveness, and resource efficiency.

5. Customer Service 

  • Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and customers.

  • Resolve problems with integrity and in alignment with company values.

Performance Indicators:

  • Customer and internal satisfaction.

  • Reduction in complaints and discrepancies.

Job Specifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)

  • Trade Test: Artisan (NQF Level 5)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating in a manufacturing environment

Technical Competencies

  • Basic MS Office, SAP/ERP systems

  • Knowledge of maintenance practices and standard operating procedures

  • Understanding of housekeeping and safety principles
