Objective of the Role
- Provide competent advice and sales of company products.
- Defend against competition and secure company growth.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
- Build relationships with new customers.
- Achieve sales budget targets.
Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to achieve long-term growth.
- Conduct effective engagements with potential customers.
- Maintain strong product knowledge and understand market positioning.
- Identify customer challenges and offer solutions through company products/services.
- Build and maintain a contact base via Salesforce.
- Track and add qualified prospects to the sales pipeline.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process through Salesforce.
- Secure sales volumes and implement contracts with customers.
- Work with sales and production teams to meet customer needs.
- Provide after-sales support and maintain customer trust.
Existing Customer Management
- Manage daily relationships with assigned customers, ensuring service levels align with SLA objectives.
- Develop strong networks and relationships within the customer base.
- Monitor and ensure sales targets are met; take corrective actions as needed.
- Perform cross-selling activities to boost sales and meet targets.
- Identify bundling opportunities to increase business share.
- Assist in Service Level Agreement discussions and customer proposals.
- Attend regular customer review meetings.
- Accurately forecast packaging requirements to support production planning.
- Identify and act on sourcing opportunities.
- Address customer complaints promptly within committed timeframes.
Key Competencies
- Pricing negotiations with customers.
- Supply solutions.
- Sales responsibility for assigned areas/customers.
Requirements
Education
- University degree or a technical/commercial apprenticeship.
Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, Pastel, and Salesforce.
- Fluency in English (isiZulu / Afrikaans beneficial).
- Strong knowledge of packaging and market trends.
- Minimum 4 years of sales experience, preferably in the packaging industry.
Other Requirements
- Hands-on mentality with self-initiative and assertiveness.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel 50% or more.
Compensation & Benefits
- Basic Salary: R25,000.00
- Travel Allowance: R14,600.00
- Provident Fund (Employer Contribution): R1,500.00
- Medical Aid (Employer Contribution): R3,472.00
- 13th Cheque: R2,083.33
- Incentive: R5,000.00
- Total Monthly CTC: R51,655.33
