The Role: Chief Operations Officer
This role is central to shaping operational strategy and ensuring organisational performance. The Chief Operations Officer will lead cross-functional teams, manage partnerships, and drive business strategies that enhance efficiency, productivity, and financial stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CEO and Executive team to set and drive the organisational vision and operational strategy

• Develop business strategies aligned with short- and long-term objectives

• Lead and optimise operational processes to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery

• Oversee company operations and employee productivity while building a strong, inclusive culture

• Establish and analyse management reports to support informed decision-making

• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

• Negotiate supplier agreements and manage contracts to align with company strategy

• Strengthen customer relationships, ensuring service excellence, retention, and growth opportunities

• Foster organisational culture centred on equity, continuous improvement, and innovation

About You

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or equivalent

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the transport industry, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role

• Strong knowledge of diverse business functions such as supply chain, finance, and customer service

• Experience in aviation and road freight is advantageous

• Skilled in compliance, risk management, financial systems, and strategic business management

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with proven ability to develop and mentor teams

• Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability

• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, data/financial analytics, and cost/revenue management

• Comfortable working with diverse teams and engaging outside core business hours when needed
