Location: Atlantis Industrial
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Contract: Permanent (6-month probation)
Shift: Primarily Day Shift (08h00-  17h30) flexibility required

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled, hands-on Handyman to help maintain the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our factory plant while never compromising on food safety or product quality.

In this role, you'll be a critical part of the maintenance team, helping to ensure everything from machines to water pipes and pallet jacks is in top working order. What You'll Be Doing

• Set up production lines before start-up
  Ensure machines and equipment are in good working order report issues immediately
  Support with maintenance, servicing & repairs on machinery, forklifts, pallet jacks, bandsaws, conveyors, and more
  Lubricate machinery per specifications
  Inspect and maintain water and air pipe systems
  Assist with building & plant maintenance
  Monitor drain and water installations report any abnormalities
  Clear machine jams quickly and efficiently
  Stop or reset machines during malfunctions
  Complete weekly production check sheets
  Support the Maintenance team with ad-hoc requests

Who Were Looking For

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  2-3 years experience as a Handyman or similar role
  Technical course/certification a plus
  Food processing environment experience a plus
  Strong ability to use hand tools and power tools
  Plant / building maintenance experience highly desirable
  HACCP / Food Safety knowledge a plus

• You will also need to be:

  Self-motivated & able to work independently
  Great at managing your time and meeting deadlines
  Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities
  Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
  Able to work under pressure and multi-task
  Willing to work overtime, weekends, and occasional night shifts
  In possession of your own transport
