    • Precision Engineering Machine Shop seeks a skilled and results-driven Team Leader Autos, Press & Plating to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and leading a team of 20-25 employees. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strong background in press tool production lines, lathe production lines, and chemical plating plants.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Supervise and coordinate operations across the Autos, Press, and Plating sections.
      • Ensure production plans are executed efficiently, meeting time, quality, and cost targets.
      • Track production output, report key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive continuous improvements.
      • Monitor machine, tool, and consumable levels to prevent production delays.
      • Oversee Tornos Cam Auto machines, ensuring correct setup, calibration, and operational readiness.
      • Conduct tooling inspections and troubleshoot press tooling issues.
      • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, visual management, and workflow improvements).
      • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 quality and safety standards.
      • Enforce workplace discipline, manage absenteeism, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
      • Develop and mentor staff, providing training to enhance technical and leadership skills.
      • Manage stock control, work orders, and scrap/reject handling.
      • Foster a safety-first culture by ensuring adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements.

      Essential Qualifications & Experience:

      • Trade Qualification: Fitter & Turner or Toolmaker (Essential).
      • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a production lead or management role.
      • Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience in press tool production, lathe production, and chemical plating.
      • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
      • Languages: English and Afrikaans proficiency required.

      • Quality Standards Ensuring components meet specifications with minimal rework.
      • Efficiency & Scrap Rate Reducing waste and maximizing productivity.
