Job Description:

External Sales Executive 

Location: Muizenberg

R20 000 - R 30 000 plus a great commission structure 

You will be responsible for expanding the company's market presence by identifying new sales opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with clients throughout the Western Cape. This is a proactive, field-based role that requires a passion for outdoor products mainly timber solutions. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Growth and Business Development:
    Actively seek out and develop new business opportunities in the construction, landscaping, and home improvement sectors.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and repeat business is secured.
  • Product Knowledge:
    Develop a deep understanding of our product range, including poles, fencing, timber, rustic garden furniture, and custom-manufactured items. 
  • On-site Client Visits:
    Regularly visit client sites to provide tailored solutions, take measurements for custom orders, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Quote Preparation and Negotiation:
    Prepare accurate quotes for customers, negotiate terms, and close deals that meet both the client's needs and the company's profitability targets.
  • Market Research and Trends:
    Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to position The Pole Yard as a leader in the outdoor timber and home improvement space.
Requirements:
  • Experience:
    2-3 years of proven sales experience, ideally within the timber, construction, home improvement, or building materials industries.
  • A good understanding of timber products, fencing, garden materials, and outdoor furniture is highly advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for regular travel to client sites
  • Skills: 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales reporting tools is an advantage.
