About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee all production processes, ensuring that manufacturing runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production activities, managing teams, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage production schedules to meet customer deadlines.

  • Oversee workflow, allocate resources, and monitor performance across teams.

  • Analyse production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement efficiency improvements.

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action for production issues.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Lead, train, and motivate production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.

  • Conduct performance reviews and manage discipline where required.

  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure transparent communication.

  • Collaborate across departments to improve processes and minimise downtime.

  • Stay informed on international standards and technology developments.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 plus a relevant tertiary qualification:

    • HNDT Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or

    • Production / Operations Management (NQF 6) (advantageous).

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Production Manager role within manufacturing (FMCG).

  • Strong, hands-on expertise in injection moulding processes, tools, and equipment.

  • Exposure to training at injection moulding machine suppliers (advantageous).

  • Proven leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential).

  • Strong communication, people management, and conflict management skills.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and drive results.
