OPS CHECKER (COLD STORE / WAREHOUSE) – PHILIPPI, Cape Town – Market Related Salary

The Opportunity

We are looking for a vibrant and hardworking individual to join our operations team within the seafood import, export, and distribution sector. As an Ops Checker, you will be the final line of defense in our Quality Control process, ensuring that every order is accurate, complete, and in perfect condition before it reaches our internal or external customers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Quality Control & Dispatch: Apply strict QC principles prior to dispatching orders.

  • Order Verification: Ensure the correct products and quantities are loaded, verifying both the weight and number of cartons.

  • Stock Integrity: Maintain warehouse integrity by ensuring stock is correctly allocated as per the digital stock system.

  • Condition Monitoring: Guarantee that all stock being loaded is in good condition.

  • Documentation: Ensure all paperwork is correct and corresponds exactly with physical stock.

  • Operational Flow: Monitor orders to ensure they follow through as planned and keep the Receiving/Dispatch areas clean at all times.

  • Administration: Perform general administrative duties as required by the operations department.

Candidate Profile

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Matric certificate is required.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a warehouse or cold store environment.

  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in basic computer use; experience with Excel is considered a strong advantage.

  • Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy is non-negotiable for verifying orders.

  • Urgency & Reliability: A "go-getter" attitude with the ability to report faults and take action immediately.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to learn new systems and adapt to the changing demands of a fast-paced industry.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Hours & Requirements

  • Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.

  • Flexibility: Overtime and weekend work will be required due to the nature of the distribution industry.

  • Transport: Must have own reliable transport.
