The Role: Quantity Surveyor
This role is focused on managing project costs across building and civil engineering projects to ensure maximum value for money while upholding required quality standards. You will play a critical role from project inception to close-out, applying your technical expertise across feasibility, estimating, cost control, and contract administration.
Key Responsibilities

Bring 5+ years of experience in a Contractors QS or PQS environment

Prepare feasibility studies and cost estimates for new tenders

Develop accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQs) aligned with measurement standards

Administer JBCC, NEC, and GCC contracts, managing variations and claims

Prepare tender documents and assess subcontractor bids

Conduct monthly site measurements and draft interim payment certificates

Monitor budgets and deliver detailed monthly cost-to-complete reports

Finalise project accounts with clients and subcontractors
About You
-
Hold a BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying from a South African university

Registered as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) with SACQSP, or as a Candidate QS actively working toward APC
-
Proficient in CCS Candy, and WinQS or DimX
-
Strong contractual knowledge of JBCC, NEC, and GCC
-
Analytical thinker with excellent cost-control and value engineering capabilities

Skilled in identifying financial risks and proactive in offering viable solutions
