The Role: Contract Specialist
This role is central to ensuring the smooth execution of construction and utility projects by owning the full contract lifecycle. You'll be drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts across a range of stakeholders from clients to subcontractors while ensuring compliance with legal standards, internal policies, and industry regulations. Your work will directly support project delivery and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 3 years of experience in contract management, ideally within construction or utility services
- Draft, review, and negotiate service agreements, subcontracts, vendor contracts, and NDAs
- Monitor compliance with US regulations (including prevailing wage/labour laws) and mitigate risk
- Manage contract modifications, renewals, extensions, and terminations
- Maintain a centralised, well-organised contract database
- Track key milestones and ensure obligations are met on time
- Support internal and external audits with timely and accurate documentation
- Liaise with Ops, Finance, and HR teams to ensure contractual alignment
- Respond to and resolve contract-related issues professionally and efficiently
- Develop internal templates and improve contract workflows
About You
- 3+ years of experience in contract management, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and procurement best practices
- Prior experience supporting the US market (preferred)
- Construction experience is non-negotiable
- Proficient in contract management tools and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills (neutral or no accent preferred)
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organisation and multitasking abilities
- Able to work independently during US time zones and thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment
Shift Requirements
- Training Period: Full US shift (flexibility required)
- Post-Training: Two shorter US-aligned shifts:
- 8 am - 12 pm SAST (11 pm - 3 am PST)
- 5 pm - 9 pm SAST (8 pm - 12 am PST)
