The Role: Sales Executive
This is a dynamic hybrid sales role spanning both road freight and clearing/forwarding
services. You'll be responsible for acquiring new business and nurturing client accounts across diverse sectors—ensuring consistent revenue growth while acting as a strategic logistics partner. From quoting and contract negotiation to client onboarding and upselling, your focus will be on building long-term, solution-oriented relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring 5-10 years sales experience in logistics, ideally across road freight and clearing/forwarding
- Prospect, pitch, and close new clients across local and international transport segments
- Meet monthly/quarterly sales targets and maintain a robust pipeline
- Conduct client site visits, presentations, and solution scoping sessions
- Prepare pricing, proposals, and service-level agreements
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless delivery post-sale
- Stay current on freight trends, customs regulations, and competitor offerings
- Maintain CRM data and provide accurate forecasting and reporting
About You
- 5-10 years sales experience in road freight and/or international logistics
- Proven track record in meeting/exceeding targets
- Valid Code 08 drivers license and own reliable vehicle
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of freight types, costing models, and transport operations
- Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working independently
- Proficient in MS Office; CRM exposure preferred
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business (advantageous)
- Familiarity with SA transport and customs regulations (preferred)
