A well-established and fast-growing automotive wholesaler is looking for a hands-on, solutions-driven Warehouse Manager to lead operations at its Worcester branch. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a busy distribution environment, drives strong stock control, and builds high-performing teams.

What youll be responsible for

Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end warehouse activities: goods receiving, picking, checking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Maintain an efficient warehouse layout and ensure cleanliness, order, and safe working practices.
  • Drive adherence to Health & Safety standards and operating procedures.
  • Implement and manage inventory processes including regular stock takes and cycle counts.

Delivery & Logistics

  • Coordinate branch and customer deliveries using company drivers, subcontractors, and courier partners.
  • Manage collection workflows, including goods returned for credit and claims.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely distribution.

People Leadership

  • Lead and support the full warehouse team (receiving staff, pickers, checkers, drivers, and cycle count team).
  • Manage performance, training, motivation, discipline, leave, absenteeism, and grievance processes.
  • Foster a productive, accountable, and service-focused team culture.

Systems & Reporting

  • Take ownership of warehouse system functions including stock adjustments and inter-branch transfer (IBT) queries.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and Procurement to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Produce accurate reports and maintain strong data integrity.

Stock Safekeeping

  • Implement robust stock control measures to prevent theft and loss.
  • Conduct regular inspections and escalate security risks or problem areas promptly.

Minimum requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or solid equivalent experience in warehouse management.
  • Proven leadership and people-management capability.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal ability.
  • Confident with inventory systems and Microsoft Office.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Integrity, accountability, and a commitment to confidentiality and company policies.
