The Role: Field Service Technician
As a Field Service Technician, you'll be the trusted on-site expert for air compressors, vacuum pumps, and related systems. You'll keep mission-critical equipment running smoothly, while also identifying opportunities to grow service contracts, spares, and system sales. This role blends technical problem-solving with customer relationship building to ensure long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience servicing, installing, and repairing air compressors, vacuum pumps, or similar equipment

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, delivering clear recommendations and solutions

  • Manage service schedules, communicate professionally with clients, and complete reports on time

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineers, technicians, and maintenance teams

  • Identify new opportunities, cold-call prospects, and contribute to achieving sales targets for service contracts, repairs, and equipment

  • Track completed services and encourage repeat servicing to improve customer retention

  • Collaborate with the sales team on territory strategies and opportunities

  • Travel as needed (including occasional cross-border trips), ensuring a valid passport is maintained

About You

  • National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or Millwright trade qualification (preferred)

  • Proven technical knowledge of air compressors (essential); additional exposure to vacuum pumps, blowers, valves, or instrumentation advantageous

  • Strong commercial mindset, comfortable promoting service contracts, spares, and solutions on site

  • Clear, professional communicator with solid reporting and customer-facing skills

  • Proactive, organised self-starter with strong reasoning, problem-solving, and multitasking ability

  • Team player who can also work independently to achieve objectives without close supervision
