Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Housing Intake Specialist to support a property management company with the review and processing of housing applications. The specialist will be responsible for reviewing applicant information, conducting interviews with prospective tenants, verifying relevant details, and ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in recruiting, candidate screening, interviewing, customer intake, or a similar role, along with strong English communication and interpersonal skills. This position requires someone who can confidently follow established interview scripts while using sound judgment to ask relevant follow-up questions, identify inconsistencies, and clarify information when necessary. The successful candidate should be resourceful, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable working independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism when handling sensitive applicant information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review applications received from prospective tenants and identify relevant information.
  • Conduct structured interviews with potential tenants using an established script.
  • Ask appropriate follow-up questions and go off-script when needed to clarify information or identify potential concerns.
  • Assess and document applicant information accurately and objectively.
  • Review employment, income, housing, and household information provided by applicants.
  • Request and follow up on missing or supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate applicant records and update information throughout the intake process.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with prospective tenants.
  • Handle confidential personal and financial information appropriately.
  • Coordinate with the management team regarding applicant status and any relevant concerns.
  • Ensure all intake and interview information is complete before moving applicants forward.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients, vendors, and teammates.
  • Previous experience in recruiting, candidate screening, interviewing, customer intake, or a similar role.
  • Strong interviewing and active listening skills.
  • Ability to follow structured interview scripts.
  • Strong judgment to ask relevant follow-up questions when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information.
  • Experience reviewing applications and/or documentation.
  • Professional, empathetic, and confident communication style.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Resourceful, accountable, with a strong sense of ownership.
