Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled and high-integrity Remote Commercial Energy Efficiency & HVAC Specialist with 3–5 years of relevant experience to evaluate commercial HVAC and mechanical systems and identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost savings. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, boilers, high-efficiency boiler upgrades, and domestic hot water systems/tanks, as well as an understanding of energy-efficiency technologies and upgrades. This role will be responsible for assessing existing systems, recommending equipment replacements and retrofits, analyzing energy savings and financial returns, and ensuring proposed projects meet applicable technical and program requirements. The specialist will also support utility rebate and government energy-efficiency programs by reviewing project documentation, equipment specifications, and incentive eligibility, and preparing accurate project reports and documentation. The successful candidate should be analytical, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Proficiency in English, Microsoft Office, and Excel, along with the ability to quickly learn new systems and workflows, is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, RTUs, VRF systems, controls, and building automation.
  • Assess commercial boilers, high-efficiency boiler upgrades, and domestic hot water systems/tanks.
  • Identify energy-saving opportunities and recommend equipment replacements, retrofits, and system improvements.
  • Analyze energy savings, payback periods, ROI, lifecycle costs, and available incentives.
  • Apply utility rebate and government energy-efficiency program requirements.
  • Review proposed projects and equipment for technical and program compliance.
  • Review technical documentation, equipment specifications, and project proposals.
  • Prepare project documentation and reports for energy-efficiency programs and incentives.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients, vendors, and teammates.
  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical engineering/consulting, energy auditing, energy efficiency, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with commercial boilers and high-efficiency boiler upgrades.
  • Experience with domestic hot water systems/tanks.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical plans and technical specifications.
  • Strong Excel, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of utility rebates and government energy-efficiency incentive programs.
  • Resourceful, high level of integrity, accountable, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Out-of-the-box thinker, highly adaptable, reliable, self-motivated, and confident.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
