Helicopter & Engine Technician (HET)
a. Job Highlights:
The ASC in the AHFS is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of rotary-wing aircraft and their propulsion systems. Operating within a military flight training environment, this role ensures aircraft are mission-ready, safe, and compliant with military aviation standards.
b. Key Responsibilities:
1) Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on helicopter airframes, engines, and related systems.
2) Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to verify operational readiness.
3) Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
4) Repair or replace components such as rotors, transmissions, gearboxes, and engines.
5) Maintain detailed maintenance records in line with military protocols and manuals.
6) Operate ground support equipment and tools for aircraft servicing.
7) Ensure compliance with military safety regulations and technical orders.
8) Participate in ground testing and engine runs to validate repairs.
9) Collaborate with flight operations and logistics teams to support training schedules.
c. Threshold Conditions:
1) Military technical training in helicopter maintenance (e.g., MOS 15T or equivalent).
2) Certification in aircraft maintenance or powerplant systems (preferred).
3) Experience with rotary-wing platforms such as B-206, UH-60, CH-47, or similar.
4) Familiarity with military maintenance documentation systems and procedures.
5) Eligibility for security clearance to access restricted areas and data.
6) Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
7) Ability to work under pressure in mission-critical environments.
8) Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance directives.
9) Commitment to safety, discipline, and operational excellence.
10) Effective communication and teamwork in hierarchical structures.
11) English proficiency level C1
