Position: Group Internal Control and Audit

Position scope: 

The Finance Internal Auditor provides the company with valuable information and financial analysis, helping identify areas for cost savings, process optimisation and increased operational efficiency; ensure that the financial operations and processes comply with applicable laws, regulations and company policies. She/he conducts thorough financial audits, analyse data, identify discrepancies and provide recommendations for process improvements. Thus, they help safeguard the organisations assets and prevent any fraud.

Objectives and duties of the Internal Finance Auditor:

  1. Planning & conducting internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls, risk management systems and operational processes including data analysis and testing.
  2. Auditing the annual financial statements and periodical financial statements to ensure they are prepared in accordance with reporting framework, accurate and compliant with the budget and tax regulations.
  3. Assessing and ensuring the company's compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies in all markets.
  4. Providing management with accurate and timely reports on financial audit findings, including recommendations for improvement.
  5. Giving independent and objective assessments of the organisations operations, financial statements and internal controls.
  6. Proposing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and identifying other areas of improvement.
  7. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies.
  8. Evaluate internal control systems and ensure adherence to applicable market laws.
  9. Perform risk assessments and internal control evaluations and detect discrepancies.
  10. Identify and investigate potentially fraudulent activities or financial irregularities.
  11. Collaborate with external auditors during statutory audits and regulatory compliance assessments.
  12. Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and execute remedial actions.
  13. Stay updated with the latest industry regulations and best practices in internal auditing.
  14. Performs other unplanned tasks in accordance with the Audit Procedure (P.9.3), internal company rulebook and domestic regulatory requirements.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
  • Professional certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in internal auditing or related financial roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation and regulatory requirements (international and local).
  • Proficiency in using audit management software and data analysis tools.
  • Experience in developing and executing audit plans and evaluating internal control systems.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial documents and audit reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and industry practices.
