Web Designer
Job Summary:
The Web Designer is responsible for designing the layout, visual elements, and usability of websites. The focus will be around creating
visually appealing websites supporting the user experience.
Essential Functions:
The Web Designer will have several key responsibilities in the fulfillment of their duties including:
Overall responsible for build, implementation of websites including:
70% :
Taking requirements, creating mock-ups, and designing layouts while balancing the usability, visual appeal, and technical feasibility of each design.
Plan and execute projects, as well as improve the overall quality of each website.
Creating marketing websites for small brands and web businesses.
Developing attractive landing web pages.
Creating and integrating content templates including design graphics, icons, and logos.
20%
Partner with internal team and stakeholders on:
Create intuitive, attractive user interfaces to engage customers.
Establish and maintain design standards and best practices.
10%
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
The successful Web Designer should have the ability to create marketing websites for specific brands and web businesses, while balancing
usability, visual appeal, and technical feasibility of the designs.
Required qualifications for the position are:
- Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS (websites are HTML based, and WordPress or related technologies)
- Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, and illustrator.
- A strong eye for visual design and composition
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design
- Must have knowledge of SEO and traffic measurement.
- Strong attention to detail, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Training:
Web Designer typically needs a bachelors degree in business or related field with 2+ years work experience developing web site content.
