Job Description:
We are looking for an analytical Surveyor Engineer to conduct land surveys and perform mathematical calculations with a high level of accuracy. Your measurements and calculations will be used for various construction and engineering projects in order to aid the decision-making and design process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting surveys using advanced equipment and techniques to gather accurate measurements and data, including topography, boundaries and existing structures.
- Analysing survey data and creating detailed survey reports, maps and drawings to support project planning and decision-making.
- Identifying land boundaries, markers and existing infrastructure to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers and architects to provide survey information for design and construction purposes.
- Assessing site suitability, analysing topography and evaluating potential risks to support project feasibility studies.
- Utilising software applications and computer-aided design (CAD) tools for data analysis and report generation.
- Monitoring and reviewing survey progress, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures during fieldwork and adhere to ethical standards in surveying practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters Degree in surveying, geomatics, geospatial sciences, geophysics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in surveying or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment and software.
- Successful completion of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying® (NCEES), Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam, and the Principles and Practice of Surveying (PS) exam.
- Valid P.S. license.
- Experience using hand surveying tools (distance measuring wheels, plumb bobs, levels) and electronic surveying tools (transit levels, GPS equipment).
- Working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and GIS programs.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
