Junior Linux System Administrator(M/F)

About your position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Linux System Administrator to join our dynamic IT / RnD team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Job requirements

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and systems.
• Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement and manage system security measures to protect data and infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve system-related issues promptly.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to troubleshoot complex problems.j
• Optimise system performance through regular performance tuning and resource monitoring.
• Identify and implement solutions to enhance system efficiency.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.
• Test and verify backups to ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Keep documentation up-to-date to facilitate knowledge sharing and team collaboration.
• Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline routine tasks and improve efficiency.
• Explore and implement new technologies to enhance automation capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and implement measures to protect against security threats.
• Regularly update and patch systems to address vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, etc.).
• Fairly good in scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (VMware, KVM) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) is a Plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps is a Plus.
• Familiarity with Nginx web server is a Plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
