Exciting Opportunity: Brewing Production Manager

Are you ready to lead a team dedicated to crafting exceptional beer? We are looking for a passionate and experienced Brewing Production Manager to join our client brewery. This key role is essential in overseeing all aspects of the brewing process, ensuring that high-quality beer is produced efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve Production Goals: You will be responsible for meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to production volume, margin, and quality. Your ability to strategize and implement effective processes will be crucial to success.
  • Supervise Brewing Operations: As the first point of contact for production issues, you will manage the entire brewing process from raw material acquisition to packaging and dispatch ensuring that operations run smoothly and any bottlenecks are swiftly addressed.
  • Production Planning: Collaborate with the client team to prepare yearly production plans. You will create and manage detailed schedules for production, filtration, and bottling to optimize resource use while ensuring targets are met.
  • Quality Control Leadership: Oversee quality assurance processes, which include daily and weekly tastings, laboratory testing, and ongoing monitoring of raw materials and finished products. Your commitment to maintaining high standards will be paramount.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance brewing processes, focusing on efficiency gains, cost reduction, and higher product quality. Your insights will help drive innovation and keep the brewery competitive.
  • Team Development: Supervise and train brewing staff, clearly defining roles and responsibilities. Implement training programs to enhance employee skills, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all operations adhere to occupational health and safety standards. You will conduct regular safety audits and compliance checks to maintain a clean and safe brewery environment.
  • Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the brewing budget, ensuring that production remains within financial constraints while maximizing output.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • A formal brewing qualification (preferred) or relevant diplomas.
  • Management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • A bachelors degree in food production, chemistry, biology, engineering, or business is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in brewery production management, with a proven track record in leading production teams and implementing quality assurance processes.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Leadership: You possess excellent leadership skills and have a proven ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and upper management.
  • Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of brewing techniques, process controls, and the various types of beer.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities to efficiently manage schedules, resources, and personnel.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick to identify and resolve issues that may impact production.
  • IT Proficiency: Experience with brewery management software and other relevant IT systems.
