For our client, a leading producer of high-quality bakery and confectionery products in Kosovo, we are looking for a Production Director.

The Production Director is responsible for overseeing the entire production function of the industrial bakery, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role leads production planning, process optimization, labor management, equipment performance, and coordination with other departments to ensure the company meets its production, quality, cost, and delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all production operations across bakery lines, including mixing, forming, proofing, baking, cooling, freezing, packing, and related processes as applicable.
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved in line with sales forecasts and operational plans.
• Optimize production capacity, efficiency, and output while minimizing downtime, waste, and product losses.
• Oversee workforce planning, shift organization, and performance management of production teams.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, quality, and health & safety standards throughout the production process.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to maintain product consistency and compliance with internal and external standards.
• Monitor and improve key production KPIs such as output, yield, waste, labor efficiency, downtime, changeover times, and line performance.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance planning, and rapid issue resolution.
• Partner with Procurement, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and production inputs.
• Support new product implementation and process validation for new recipes, formats, and technologies.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve workflow.
• Participate in investment planning for machinery, plant improvements, automation, and capacity expansion.
• Prepare regular production reports and provide operational updates to senior management.
• Build a disciplined, accountable, and performance-driven production culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of leadership experience in production, preferably in industrial bakery, food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar high-volume production environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial bakery processes, production planning, line efficiency, and food manufacturing operations.
• Good understanding of food safety systems, hygiene standards, and manufacturing compliance requirements.
• Proven experience in managing large production teams and multi-shift environments.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
