Job Title: Mechanical or Civil Engineer for Project Development and Management (10+ years of experience)
Location: [Tirana / hybrid field work]
Reports to: Department Director
Working Hours: Full-time
Position Purpose:
The Mechanical Engineer for Project Development and Management is responsible for the technical breakdown of projects, preparation of cost estimates and technical documentation, cost analysis, and overseeing and managing the implementation phase on site. This role is key in ensuring that projects are executed in compliance with technical standards, timelines, and allocated budget.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze technical project documentation and prepare relevant documents (drawings, specifications, technical data sheets, etc.).
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and perform cost analysis.
- Select appropriate mechanical equipment and prepare technical specifications for procurement.
- Coordinate project implementation on site; supervise and follow up on construction works according to plan, until its completion including the commissioning process and handover of the works
- Draft and monitor work schedules and report progress.
- Prepare the Technical Folder for the construction site in compliance with current Albanian legislation.
- Conduct market research for contractors needed for project execution.
- Resolve technical issues during the design and implementation phases.
- Ensure compliance with technical norms, safety standards, and applicable legal requirements.
- Ensure the implementation of technical safety rules on site.
- Manage the relationship with the project stakeholders such as supervisor; client/investor;
- contractors/ suppliers.
- Manage human resources for project execution and collaborate with.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- University Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial and mechanical infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in the construction of industrial plants, steel tanks (2001000 m³), pumping systems and pipeline, mechanical structures, and accompanying civil works.
- Advanced knowledge of technical software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Project, and Excel (for cost analysis).
- Strong project management skills and ability to monitor site progress.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks and technical standards for mechanical plants and industrial structures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a practical problem-solving approach.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Advantages (Preferred):
- Experience in industrial plant sectors or similar fields.
- Possession of professional technical licenses or relevant certifications.
- Experience with international standards such as EN, ASME, ISO, and knowledge of Albanian technical legislation.
