About The Client: The Client is a global hydrogen company, with facilities in Europe and Asia. They were established in 2009. The main technology of the company is thermocatalytic decomposition producing specialty carbon and hydrogen from natural gas with low or no emissions for various land-based and marine industries.

For us Zero carbon is the new economy. Turquoise / green hydrogen will play a crucial role in this transition to renewable energy, but this needs to be combined with advanced technology, with right team, the right contacts and working business models to be effective.

About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for Chief Technology Officer to take ownership of the clients TCD system at all stages of the product lifecycle - through R&D, design, testing, project sales, manufacture, and delivery to customers. You would be reporting to the CEO. In this hands-on engineering role, you would work alongside an international team to ensure that their product is meeting the technical, safety and commercial standards set forth.

What you can expect:

  • Lead the end-to-end engineering of new hydrogen technology solutions to deliver fully functional products - encompassing design, development, prototyping, manufacturing and commissioning.
  • Lead the product research and development team and technology partners to find, develop and validate innovative products and find ways to bring them to market.
  • Build a future technology roadmap that aligns with the company's trajectory and foster the culture of innovation and new technology adoption within the team.
  • Carry out test and validation of products to ensure they meet the necessary compliance and product specifications for quality, safety, technical performance and reliability.
  • Continuously assess and adapt designs to optimise for performance, manufacturing and serviceability.
  • Partner with component suppliers and contract manufacturers to collaboratively find solutions that enhance the robustness and performance of solutions, and to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Assist the operations and project team with their issues and queries to ensure schedules are maintained and that the products delivered meet expectations.

You Should:

  • Be Committed to upholding HSE standards
  • Have previous experience in leadership roles in the field of engineering, research, and development
  • 10+ years in a product development environment with a strong emphasis on design for manufacture, market launch and customer support
  • Great communication skills
  • Personal drive to achieve a high standard of work and foster individual and technical growth amongst your peers
  • Able to show evidence of excellent problem-solving skills as well as an affinity for tackling new or unfamiliar technologies
  • Deep understanding of how to work with an international team with cross-cultural awareness
  • Collaboration experience with Universities and research institutes

Things that are not essential, but would be a bonus:

  • Knowledge of hydrogen equipment and its operation
  • Previous experience within marine / O&G offshore segments
  • Previous work with renewable energy
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing environments
