About The Client

They are a global hydrogen company, with facilities in Europe & Asia. They were established in 2009. Their main technology of the company is thermocatalytic decomposition producing specialty carbon and hydrogen from natural gas with low or no emissions for various land-based and marine industries.

For the Client, Zero carbon is the new economy. Turquoise / green hydrogen will play a crucial role in this transition to renewable energy, but this needs to be combined with advanced technology, with right team, the right contacts and working business models to be effective.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a R&D leader to step in and lead the evolution of our turquoise hydrogen production efforts. You would be reporting to the CEO and be responsible for the R&D leadership efforts. This means taking ownership of development activities including research, testing and simulations. In this hands-on technical leadership role, you would work alongside an international team to ensure that our product is meeting the commercial targets set forth. This role offers a rare chance to become an early leader in this emerging global economy.

About you:

  • PhD in a chemical or material science fields
  • Previous leadership/senior roles in the field of research within a corporation preferably O&G / chemical / carbon
  • 5+ years of experience in a product development environment with a strong emphasis on research, big data, laboratory & pilot experiments and simulations
  • Great communication skills
  • Personal drive to achieve a high standard of work and foster individual and technical growth amongst your peers
  • Able to show evidence of excellent hands-on problem-solving skills as well as an affinity for tackling new or unfamiliar technologies
  • Deep understanding of how to work with an international team with cross-cultural awareness
  • Collaboration experience with Universities and research institutes

Things that are not essential, but would be a bonus:

  • Knowledge of hydrogen equipment and its operation
  • Previous experience within marine / O&G segments
  • Previous work with renewable energy
