COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Our client is an electronic communications manufacturer and supplier based in Edenvale and they are looking for a Stores Supervisor to join their team as soon as possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that the Stores Department runs effectively and efficiently at all times.
  • Lead by example to motivate staff effectively to ensure maximum co-operation, performance and respect. Provide an excellent example of customer service on all levels
  • Be pro-active so as to limit and avoid problems occurring in the Stores Department.
  • Co-operate fully with all other departments and personnel.
  • Ensure that the Stores Department is manned at all times during working hours
  • Satisfy customer requirements in conjunction with the Sales Staff at all times.
  • Plan all deliveries in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Ensure that the delivery vehicle is serviced and maintained as per the manufactures specifications
  • Do daily, weekly and monthly checks and stocktake when required
  • Compile weekly/monthly reports when required
  • Complete and file waybills
  • Arrange collections with Customers and Couriers
  • Process goods received for Repairs and returned for Credit
  • Receive and issue goods to and from the Production Department
  • Be accountable for issues concerning the following areas in your department:
  • Inventory control
  • Filing systems
  • Labour Performance
  • Ensure all Stores Processes are documented and up to date
  • Ensure Stores Staff are proficient in all aspects of their position. Identify and address staff training and coaching needs
  • Adhere to and uphold Company Policies, Procedures and Practices at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality / secrecy relating to the company and its products at all times
  • Ensure that the entire Stores Department is a safe and healthy environment, i.e. free of health and safety hazards / risks.
  • Report directly to the HOD Supply Chain Operations

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Strive to minimise and work towards eliminating all types / forms of wastage (e.g. raw materials, consumables, tools, labour time, etc.).
  • Measure and evaluate daily activities of all Stores Staff.
  • Ensure goods are correctly dispatch as per Picking/Packing notes and are correctly packed to ensure goods are not damaged during transit
  • Ensure miscellaneous stock (items received from Procurement) are kept at sufficient levels
  • Ensure that the customers experience when dealing with the company is always friendly and efficient and that all Stores staff delivers this consistently
  • Ensure that all stock movements are recorded and that all stock levels always balance with the quantities as per Accpac inventory systems and processes
  • Ensure all completed Production/Technical Orders are invoiced by the following business day
  • Use initiative to improve systems and achieve advancement.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification or completed coursework in a relevant field (Production, Supply Chain, Stock Control or similar)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 2 years Stores Controller or similar experience
  • Proven experience in warehouse and stores operations with supervisory experience
  • ERP software proficient, ideally Sage/Accpac experience
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for staff interaction and reporting
  • Capacity to anticipate and resolve operational issues
  • Strong ability to organize tasks, manage time, and maintain a well-ordered store
  • Outstanding communication skills and proficient in English and Afrikaans
  • Attention to detail
