COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Our client, an upmarket hotel and conference center in Pretoria is looking for experienced and dedicated Waiters to join their team as soon as possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Regular attendance
• Arrive at work as per the departmental shift list.
• Attend Shift Briefing and receive work order/allocation (This must happen at the start of every shift)
• Maintain working knowledge of employee handbooks, policy and procedure manual
• Providing a high quality and consistent service to both internal and external customers
• Have an extensive knowledge about the products in circulation that are on offer
• Maintaining hygiene in back of house areas, Kitchens and storerooms
• Adhering to a high level of cleanliness in front of house and back of house food and beverage areas
• Ensuring that operating equipment is looked after packed away in the correct manner and locked away if necessary
• Taking Ala-Carte correct food orders from the guests, delivering food to the guests in professional manner
• Taking correct beverage orders from the guests and delivering in professional manner
• Maintain a high level of personnel hygiene, appearance
• Work safely, adhering to all hotel health and safety precautions
• Attend hotel and/or departmental meetings and training sessions when necessary
• Maintaining a cleaning schedule for fridge seals, cupboards, glasses, coffee machines and general
• Disposal of waste before, after and during events or the opening and closing cleaning down procedures
• Work in co-operation with other departments, develop and maintain an effective working relationship
• Perform other duties as requested

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Min 3 years waitering experience in Restaurants
• Experience in Ala Carte service Strong Beverage & Wine knowledge
• Good skills in cocktail and speciality coffee making
• Must be able to work long hours, night shifts and weekends to meet with operational requirements
• Must be trustworthy and honest
• Good communication skills
• Must be a good team player
